About Mark H Cohen

Mark H Cohen, Colloquy’s founder and president, started his career in the mail room in the ad business in New York. He established Colloquy Digital as a means to apply his considerable experience in “traditional” marketing to the new digital customer experience – something he’s been doing for over 20 years.

He believes the new paradigm in the relationship between brand and customer can be harnessed and guided for enhanced relationships, increased revenue, and profitable growth.

The unique conversation between consumer and brand, or “colloquy” which involves your brand, is at the heart of the solutions you can expect to receive from Colloquy Digital.

Mark has pioneered digital marketing strategies since 1994 as both a consultant and a check-writing-client, and he combines that experience with over a decade of traditional marketing experience for blue-chip companies.

His initial foray into digital media was working with an MIT Media Lab spin-off company where he co-produced the first concert to be broadcast over the M-bone of the Internet, the Rolling Stones live from Dallas, TX. He then co-founded one of the first digital agencies in NY which he sold to his partner when he was recruited to move to Colorado and lead Janus Funds into the Internet age. In 2001 he left Janus to found what became the 7th largest digital agency in Denver – Foci, LLC – and directed many of his agency resources to the community via pro-bono digital services and volunteerism. At Foci, Mark got his first taste of social media, working with Red Bull North America to build and experiment with social sharing technologies.

After a stint as VP Marketing at a B2B firm in Denver, he was recruited to Iowa to become VP Marketing for Human Factors International, where he shifted marketing and lead generation efforts to digital with a focus on social media. Unfortunately, he fell victim to the economic downturn and his job was eliminated in 2009.

He immediately formed Colloquy Digital, LLC where he consulted with numerous businesses around the country, one of which being Cambridge Investment Research where he worked as AVP Digital Media from 2011 to 2014. At Cambridge, he established the company’s social media strategy and trained hundreds of financial advisors on how to incorporate social media into their practices.

Mark hails from N. Massapequa, NY, (where he spent too much time on the beach), and holds a BS degree in Marketing from the University of Buffalo. He’s a 2003 graduate of Leadership Denver and a 2014 graduate of Leadership Iowa. He taught promotion marketing and interactive marketing classes at NYU for 6 years, was a founding member of the NY Chapter of the Promotion Marketing Association, and is currently on the board of directors of the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, the Fairfield Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the Fairfield CoLab, and the Fairfield Entrepreneur’s Club.
